Up one levelCurrently, State of California tobacco control laws allow local cities or counties to pass ordinances that are stricter that the State's laws. In Alameda County, the cities and counties have passed a wide variety of local tobacco control ordinances, many of which were designed to protect non-smokers from exposure to secondhand smoke.
